Evangelism/Crisis Care
churchinitiative.org
A nondenominational, nonprofit organization devoted
to evangelism within the church. They provide resources
for evangelism, divorce recovery, grief recovery, and
marriage reconciliation. I've only seen the site, not
the materials, but they look like quality, biblical
materials.
Books
From time to time we'll post books that we've found
helpful in church communication and marketing.
Culture/Demographics
Boomers, Xers, and Other Strangers by Dr. Rick
and Kathy Hicks
This book does a great job of comparing the generations
and providing insight into why they have the value systems
they do. A great tool for knowing how to approach evangelism
and core issues for your church and community.
Re-Churching the Unchurched by George Barna
Insightful as to the issues that the unchurched consider
when considering a church. This is very helpful in
gaining an outside perspective in making your church
visitor friendly and culturally relevant without sacrificing
the essentials of the faith. You'll have to go to
www.Barna.org for this one.
The Branding Process
Branding for Nonprofits by DK Holland
If your church realizes it needs a plan to rebrand your church, do you know where do you start, and what to expect? Branding for Nonprofits takes you from start to finish with plenty of examples and case studies. Written in plain English for nonprofit organizations, this will give you a game plan to successfully brand your church for the long run. It gives you the questions to work through to determine what your needs are, branding basics so everyone can understand what you need to accomplish, and how to work with design and branding specialists. Church Logo Gallery endorses Ms. Holland’s approach. If you’re planning a custom logo and branding project, this book is a great place to start.
